    You need to install the appropriate kernel module(s) first.

    Go to menu System->Software. Click on Update lists first. Filter software packages, search for kmod-usb, click Find packages.

    List of available software shows kernel modules for various USB devices. Select kmod-usb-storage for USB sticks or appropriate package for whatever device you want to use through USB.
